Hanky Code
Historically the hanky code is a queer semiotic, that originated in San Francisco and was most popular in the 1970s.
In the code, a color-coded handkerchief is used to indicate what a person was looking for in a sexual encounter. When worn in the rear left pocket, it indicated that the wearer was looking to top, and the right pocket meant that the wearer was seeking to bottom.
